This weekend we all traveled to Toowoomba to attend Addison and Preston’s Great, Great Nana’s memorial, a celebration of her life.
Norah Joy Griffiths (nee Clowes) was born on Sunday 9th April 1916, the sixth of seven children, she has survived them all, though two brothers exceeded her 96 years, both living to 99 years. Having professed a belief in and love of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour, she died peacefully in her sleep at 3.55 pm on Monday 25th March 2013, just 15 days short of her 97th birthday.
Firstly the family met at Lake Annand, Toowoomba for the scattering of the ashes of Norah and husband Tom. The lake empties into East Creek and flows past the end of Griffiths Street (not related – just symbolic). A lunch was then held with family and friends to remember the occasion at the Blue Mountain Hotel, located at the other end of Griffiths Street, Toowoomba.

Addison and Preston didn’t attend this part of the memorial, however did come along to the lunch. I chose not to scatter the ashes but take comfort knowing that they are both in heaven and I shall see them again one day.
