Today is Addison’s first birthday party and what a crazy morning and week leading up to it. I’ve been running around like a crazy person trying to get ready for the day and all set up. The last few days we have been baking and preparing all the food for the party (that’s why there haven’t been any posts this week). Food food and more food is about all we have had time for. Nanny and I have been busy and finally got there.
Then there was the setting up the park ready for the guests. Well there is never anything that is drama free! Trust it to happen on this weekend, but typically the park BBQ wasn’t working (despite our efforts to check the weekend before and make sure that it was fixed and working properly in previous weeks). As if we didn’t already have enough to do, so this meant that Daddy had to run around and get our BBQ cleaned, to the park and fill the gas bottle on top of trying to help get everything else for me to set up.
Needless to say this made us run behind time and there was plenty of freaking out on my part as it was too much to do for one person. All I can say is thank goodness I have wonderful friends to help me!! As soon as Eleni, Timiney and Sandi arrived they all pitched in and helped me set up. Life savers!!!! All the guests were arriving as I was still setting up the food and putting the final touches on the party, but in the end it was all done and looked just as I had imagined! All my hard work had paid off, and this first birthday party was going to be one to remember.
Sandi took plenty of photos on the day of everything, however she is very busy with lots of recent jobs so it might be a while before we get all the images back. She has however put up a couple of the party decorations, showing off the theme perfectly. I will of course add more as I get them. We have some photos on our camera that I will share in the mean time in posts to follow.
