I had a call from Dr Bopp’s office regarding my glucose tolerance test results and it seems that they were higher than they should be. They asked me to organise for the second test known as the all glucose tolerance test with no dietary requirements.
I’m a little bit disappointed and shocked by the results as I would have thought they would be normal, especially considering how low in sugar my diet is. I don’t even drink soft drink! But apparently the second test is much more accurate so I guess I will see how I go. If it is still high I will make the changes the doctor suggests to ensure that everything is fine with both me and Addison.
I have booked the test in for tomorrow morning. It is a fasting test which means that I am not to have any food after dinner tonight and no breakfast in the morning before I go for the test at 7.30am. It is a 2 hour test which will involve a urine sample and three blood tests at various points over the 2 hour period. During the 2 hours I’m not to have any other food or drink, not even water. Again, like the first test I’m required to drink a sugary drink (this one I believe is stronger than the first).
So not the most pleasant start to the day tomorrow, let’s just hope I get a better result this time.
