Off I went bright and early after having to fast all night for the dreaded Glucose Tolerance Test. As I mentioned in my earlier post, this is a 2 hour test which involves a urine sample, another “yummy” glucose drink, no food or drink during the test (or before), 3 blood tests (one when I arrive, another at the half way mark of 1 hour and then the third at the 2 hour mark) and I can’t be active so I have to sit for 2 hours.
Let’s just hope that after the torture of all that the results are much better and I don’t have to go to the next step! I really don’t like the idea of a daily finger prick test to check my glucose levels or of course having gestational diabetes!!! :(.
A big thanks to Nanny and Poppy for looking after Addi while I had the test done, I wouldn’t like to think about the alternative…entertaining Addison for 2 hours in the QML pathology center!
