How exciting, not only do we now know that we are having a little boy but I have reached the half way mark of the pregnancy – 20 weeks to go!! Every moment from now is just amazing, I’ve started to feel Addison kicking me frequently everyday. The next 20 weeks are going to be some of the most wonderful, counting down until I meet my little man!
We know from yesterdays ultrasound that Addison’s head circumference is 174.9 mm and his gestational age from the scan is 19 weeks and 6 days as of 08/06/10. All of his anatomy development is normal and no structural anomaly was detected, so two thumbs up for his progress check! We even saw Addi drinking during the ultrasound and boy was he active this time, moving around for pretty much the entire time. This didn’t exactly make the ultrasound technician’s job very easy but certainly was nice to see him having a good time in there :).
By this stage of the pregnancy Addison should be approximately 16.5 cm from crown to rump (the technician didn’t actually tell us this measurement, she was more focused on checking his heart, brain, kidneys and spine development).
As for myself, I have been feeling good however I did unfortunately nearly pass out during the ultrasound yesterday. Probably caused by my blood pressure dropping suddenly and not helping was a lack of food. Due to my early appointment time and the drinking of water required prior to the scans I hadn’t eaten any breakfast yet so I have a feeling that this wasn’t the best idea. But I was fine after a little time on my side and a washer on my face to cool me down – I haven’t had any problems since.
