After the scare of the light bleeding yesterday we went to our doctors appointment today to have another ultrasound and check for the baby’s heart beat. I won’t hold you all in suspense, everything was fine! The baby’s heart was beating, there was that little flicker on the screen as we had prayed we would see today like we did on Tuesday.

What a relief! I can not tell you how wonderful it was to know that everything was fine and the baby was healthy.
Even though everything was fine, that is no reason to take bleeding in early pregnancy for granted. It can be very worrying as I experienced yesterday, however it is actually quite common. Having said that, if you do experience any bleeding at all it is always best to call your midwife or doctor and seek advice. It is even more important to talk to your doctor immediately if you have pain or cramping with the bleeding.
