I decided this year that I was going to try and take some nice Christmas photos of the boys. I had a good ol look on Pinterest for some ideas of what I would like to do and achieve from the photos. I don’t have many props and wasn’t about to go buying things for this as it really was just a bit of fun (I’m not using them for any purpose such as Christmas cards etc – I’m really not organised enough for that this year, maybe next!) but I still wanted them to look nice.
The best idea I could come up with (when working with Preston, who I knew was going to be tricky to get to cooperate, as any 2 yr old would be) was to have both the boys sit in front of the Christmas tree and read a Christmas book. The book should hopefully distract Preston enough and keep him sitting still for at least a couple of minutes to take a few snaps of them. It kind of worked, but sure as heck wasn’t the easiest of photos I’ve done (working with Jasper, for now, is so much easier since he just lays there for me haha).
So I did end up with some really lovely photos in the end, but first I thought I would show you them all. They make me giggle as you can see how much work it is to actually get the really polished, end result. It’s kind of behind the scenes. I thought this would be a little more entertaining than just showing you the perfect, photoshopped images (which of course I will do in the next post!). Granted, there are some really cute photos in here too, very natural and sweet; the kids playing, their cheeky side, natural smiles and brothers being brothers.
