An egg hunt at Easter is something that I want to make a tradition for Addi and Preston’s childhood. I know that Easter and Christmas have other meanings, and I want Addi to understand why we celebrate them but I don’t believe in taking the fun out of it either.
It might not be about the Easter Bunny or Santa Clause, but this is part of being a kid…believing in things that are just a little bit far fetched. I really don’t see the harm in having a bit of fun too as long as they both understand the true meaning of the day.
Here are the photos from this years Easter Egg Hunt. Since I didn’t want to give Addi a whole bunch of chocolate I thought I would do something fun for him as part of the egg hunt. I bought these large plastic eggs from Spotlight and put hot wheels cars in them, one of Addi’s favourite toys! He was also able to use his little Easter bag that we had made as part of our Easter craft.
He is quite funny when it comes to looking for things. He does what I call a “boy look”…this is where it is right under his nose but he still doesn’t see it!! Don’t you just love the look on his face when he opens the eggs to find the cars…priceless!
