Addison hair sure does grow fast, he was starting to look like a little moppet again with the long hair. I think this would be the 6th hair cut!! Since we are having our maternity photo shoot with Sandi in a couple of weeks time we needed to get his hair cut (and mine too for that matter). We were lucky enough to get an appointment after my visit to the OB.
All was going well. I knew that Addi couldn’t stand it when the cape gets put on so I told them not to worry and just put one on me. He then just sits on my lap and I turn him however they need. All was going fine, the hair dresser was even using the clippers on him, and he was ok.
All of a sudden I noticed him getting a bit restless over the fact that he had hair on his hands and under his neck. I tried to explain not to worry and that we would get it all off after. That we would be going straight home for a bath and all the itch hair would be gone. Then I saw the tears well up in his eyes and he let rip. The poor hair dresser felt so bad as he got really upset. She was practically done anyway, so I tried to calm him down enough to finish. She did as much as she could and I was able to settle him.
We got enough of the hair off and I brushed him off as best I could. To cheer him up I took him in to pick a hand puppet and all was well again! I guess next time we are going to have to work on getting him to wear a cape. Perhaps I need to make him a cool one myself and put it on him at home to get him used to the idea. It isn’t ideal to upset him before we have even cut his hair, we will have to findĀ a solution.
Despite the tears, the hair dresser did a wonderful job and he looks lovely. He is going to look very smart in the maternity photos with his new hair cut.
