One thing that we wanted to make sure we taught our boys was to grow things! We don’t have much luck in our yard with growing veggies basically due to lack of sun and the sun it does get is very hot, Queensland sun. We decided it would be best to get a couple of pots for Addi’s garden, that way we could position them better in hope that his fruit/veggies would grow well. Addi today planted a couple more things in his garden (he already had strawberries growing). He’s added radishes and corn to his garden. Can’t wait! The radishes are especially for Mummy :).

Gardening is a wonderful way to teach our kids where food comes from and how things grow. It gives them responsibility and something to care for. They have to have patience, watching the garden go from a tiny seed to a vegetable, fruit or flower, ready to pick. What’s in your garden?

Grandad loves gardening and loves showing his garden to Addi. I will share these photos with him as I know he’d love to think Addi is taking after him.

His garden is really coming along. Today he was concerned for his veggies as there was the digger (finally) doing some work next door.. we might have a fence eventually! Addi said “the digger isn’t too close that it will knock my plants over” – so cute.
