Addison is now 3 months old and is experiencing his 3 month growth spurt.
I don’t know why, but for some reason whenever Addi has a growth spurt we also have extremely hot weather! Not only is Addi extra thirsty due to the weather but is feeding more often because of his growth spurt. Unfortunately this makes it very difficult to get anything done during the day. It really feels like you have only just fed him when he is asking for another feed.
Some babies tend to sleep more when they are going through a growth spurt, but it seems like Addi just naps more. He’s never asleep for long before he’s wanting more food.
He’s progressing well at this stage. Becoming very talkative, reaching for toys and enjoying time with mummy and daddy. He still isn’t a fan of tummy time and therefore isn’t rolling over yet but he does like to sit up (with help of course) and his neck is becoming very strong. I’m still trying to do as much tummy time as I can but it’s hard when it upsets him. I hope that it won’t slow his development in this area.
He just loves when we read and sing. He seems to really enjoy when I sing 5 Little Ducks to him. I like to sing to him generally when he is feeding – this is mummy and Addi time. Daddy really likes to read books with Addi. He’s pointing and starting to want to touch the pages, loves to giggle during story time and enjoys books with bright colours.
When we play with him on his play mat he is reaching at the toys and has even made the music play himself by kicking the toys. They say that you can help to teach babies to roll over when they start reaching, so as soon as he becomes more interested in this it may help to encourage him to roll.
