I ordered my 3 to 12 month size, blue Ergo Cocoon Pouch swaddle wrap for Addison on Wednesday and it arrived Thursday. Unfortunately it is grey! not blue like I ordered :(.
So I jumped online and sent an email to the lady running the online store that I bought it from. Thankfully she is located on the Gold Coast as well (which I didn’t know when I placed the order) so swapping it over for the blue was simple.
She said that she would be able to bring me the correct wrap today, which she did. It is always disappointing when your order isn’t correct in the first place, but it seems that this mistake was a blessing in disguise.
As well as fixing up the mistake, Amanda from Sweet Bubba also asked if I was interested in a blue Ergo Pouch in size 0 to 3 months for free!!! I couldn’t believe it when she offered, I was in shock! I had been trying to decide for months of what to do regarding size, and now my decision didn’t matter as I was being offered both sizes for the price of one.
I eventually had decided to just to order the large size as I would get more use out of it for the cost (the 3 to 12 mth pouch is nearly $30), and just use normal wraps to swaddle Addison for the first few months. Buying both was a little out of reach and would have meant me spending nearly $60 including postage.
Therefore this mistake in colour has made a huge difference for me! I’m so greatful for Amanda’s generosity, as she never had to offer me anything for the mistake but she did.
What’s great about these baby swaddles is they have a zip at both the top and bottom meaning you don’t have to take bub out to change a nappy or to have his legs free for car rides etc.
It also has little clips on the arm holes so you can have both arms in, and then gradually have one arm out then both as they get older for the transition to a sleeping bag. I haven’t seen any other wraps that actually have this option so I was quite impressed.
These are also a great idea as babies have a tendency to wriggle right out of normally swaddling, and knowing how much Addison moves around in me I’m sure this would definitely apply to him!
