Today I made a cake smash set for Preston’s first birthday. It includes bloomers, a bow tie and party hat (I already had the matching suspenders from Bumblebee Boutique).
The bloomers have been made using the free Martha Stewart pattern that can be found here. The bow tie was made following a step by step guide on youtube.
It’s made using a 10 inch x 6 inch piece of fabric for the main bow tie, the middle strip is 3 inch x 2 inch and the neck piece is 12 inch x 3 inchs (which if I made this again myself I would make smaller), secured with hook and loop.
Hopefully in the future I will make more of these and post my own how to here on the blog for those that are interested. I can’t wait to do Preston’s cake smash, it will be so much fun. He will also wear his party hat at the birthday party. I’ll be making Addi something similar to wear at the party too.
