Gran reminded me by commenting on the photo that Addi had his hair cut, and I totally forgot to write about it! It all started when we were having our play date with my friend Belinda and I brought up that Addison was in desperate need for a hair cut (but how he cries every time and it’s just torture for the both of us).
She suggested that I go and see Tim at Tim’s Classic Cuts in Algester. Tim goes to her church and she takes her son Joel to have his hair cut by him. Apparently it’s the only place that Joel likes to go to have his hair cut(and when I got there I could see why). It’s completely themed with cars!! Addi seemed pretty impressed by it too.
It was a walk in barber shop (so no appointment), which meant a little bit of a wait but not too long. I had actually called him up earlier in the week and explained the situation about Addi’s crying and he assured me that he was very used to it, having had many difficult little people come and see him in the past.
All I needed was it cut, and the shorter the better (to lengthen our trips to the barber/hair dresser). I don’t care about styles, just that it’s tidy! And to be able to see his cute, little face once more would be nice as he was starting to look like I should go and buy him a drum kit and call him Ringo Starr.
I was so impressed with Tim, he did a wonderful job and was so quick! Just what I needed with a fussy toddler who wasn’t keen to be there. Addi still got pretty worked up but in comparison to the last time, it went much better. Tim gave him a car to play with which did take his attention off the hair for a little bit and Addi did like looking around at all the pictures. It wasn’t enough to stop the tears altogether, but certainly an improvement. Once it was all over, Addi jumped down from on my lap and as soon as Tim asked him if he would like a lolly, the crying went straight to giggles instead! Who would have thought he would have such a change of heart only seconds later.
In short, I would 100% recommend Tim’s Classic Cuts to anyone!!! If you are in the area, his address is 188 Algester Road, Brisbane in a strip shopping centre. He was certainly worth the drive from the Gold Coast and I can tell you I will be going back. He is cash only, (so be prepared..unlike me!!) $11 for a kids hair cut – which is pretty good in my experience. Tim’s Classic Cuts is an old school barber shop for men and boys of all ages. Find him on Facebook “Tim’s Classic Cuts”!
