(I’m going to attempt to catch you all up on the three weeks that I’ve missed on my blog due to being so very busy and being away on holidays, please bare with me while I attempt to do this over the next two days. My appologies for taking this long to get back to blogging my progress.)
The time has finally come to go on our holiday to Cairns!! I’m of course excited about the holiday itself but the moment I have also been dreading is here… travelling to the airport, and then the plane trip there.
Well as expected (but not quite this bad) during the car trip to the Gold Coast airport I began to feel my pregnancy motion sickness that has been frequent (especially on long drives) over the last few months. However, it has never been to this extent…
Normally I would drink some water and it would eventually pass, starting to feel OK… only problem was, my carry on bag containing my water bottle was in the back with all the other luggage! I slowly started to pass out/faint in the car. Thankfully David who was driving us all to the airport pulled over on the highway so I could get some air and water, slowly coming back to the land of the living! The rest of the drive we kept the window down to get some fresh air, and I made it in one piece.
This of course made me very anxious about the flight. To be honest, it really wasn’t that much better, in fact it was nearly worse! By the last half hour of the flight I just wanted off the stupid plane. Needless to say I made it to Cairns and we safely checked into our accomodation (a very comfortable apartment at Palm Cove). We took it fairly easy for the rest of the day, ducking out to grab some essentials for the week and settle into our home for the next week.
Now that the travel part of the holiday was over, relaxation is on the check list!
