We had a cute and funny moment today that I wanted to make sure I wrote a post about so that I wouldn’t forget and could look back on it. They are the sorts of things that I think get over looked and forgotten so easy. All the little every day things that our children do that we should focus on, but instead we look at the negatives and the bad days.
I want to be able to remember the good things and not let the bad days take over. Let’s face it, we all have bad days! and for some reason these are what stay in our minds. I want to think of all these sweet moments in years to come, and not the refusing to sleep or eat or crying for no real reason. Those are part of being a parent, everyone has them…so why should they be what is important?
The more that I think about it, the more wonderful moments there are! Recently there have been times where Addi will come up behind me while I’m sitting on the couch and give me a huge hug from behind and smell my hair. Those embrases are the most amazing thing in the world. They are so out of the blue and really sneak up on you, but boy are they worth treasuring and remembering.
The moment that I loved today was when he started walking off towards the bedroom and goes “bye” (his new word). In the moment I had to have a laugh, I just said “bye” and thought to myself…where exactly are you going?? Soon he walked back into the room, but what a cutie pie. It was so adorable and great to see him using his new word.
